The main street comes alive with colour as deciduous trees don bright, cheerful hand-knitted jumpes and textile
creations to keep them warm. The jumpers have been called outlandish, eccentric and maybe even a little ‘kooky’, but they certainly create a festive and daring atmosphere for fabulous talent, fantastic art, and lots of fun! National and local jazz performers take to the streets and stages to entertain the visitors and explore the diverse interpretations of this lively genre.
Excitement pops up all over the shire, restaurants buzz with life and laughter and the cafe culture comes into its
own. Participate in Warwick’s artistic revolution and follow its ever-evolving colour, movement and music culture. To meet the growing interest and popularity in textile arts and crafts, workshops are held covering everything from abstract art to knitting, felting and hat making.
So, when you feel the winter chill creep into your bones, rug up and celebrate all things cool and cosy during the Warwick Jumpers and Jazz Festival. Winter in Warwick is also the perfect time for a romantic weekend escape. Snuggle up to a roaring fire at night and wake up to a home-cooked meal at an idyllic bed and breakfast in the morning. Take leisurely strolls in the crisp country air or spend the day searching for something special from one of Warwick’s country-chic shops.
Use Warwick as a base to tour the surrounding regions. Ask at the Visitor Information Centre for tours that do pick-ups in Warwick. You will be surprised at the variety.

When other shires and towns are shutting down for winter and looking a bit drab, Warwick turns up the heat, splashes around the colour and throws on a show like no other. The Jumpers and Jazz in July Festival - Queensland’s only Winter Festival - is popular with locals and visitors alike.
